When the Atlantic Coast Line was formed in the mid to late 1830's, it was based in Wilmington North Carolina.
It ran through the states of Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia in addition to North Carolina.
The Atlantic Coast Line later incorporated with the CSX Railway System.
The Atlantic Coast Line museum in Wilmington NC is a popular venue, whether you are a railroad enthusiast or yet to become one.
